Harvard Law grad lawyer-turned-designer Amber Hagen launched her first clothing line in 2004 after 5 years as a corporate year. Raised in Manhattan, Amber had been knitting for friends and family since high school – long before knitting was “the new yoga”.
The small cult following that emerged when started, with people buying hand knit baby sweaters directly from her, grew to require a more formal approach and the Amber Hagen line was officially born.
In 2006 Owen Hagen was born, and that has been Amber’s best reason yet for leaving corporate America. While Amber doesn’t encourage everyone to leave those career girl days – she sure does recommend it!
