FOR HIM
The original book, nicknamed 'the scammers bible' by many when it was first published in 1976, recounts the tale of Zachary Swan, a middle-aged advertising executive turned drug smuggler in the 1970's, and was the first book to take a look inside the cocaine trade and drug smuggling industry at this time.
Hirst describes this edition as “an art object with a story running through it”. Signed by Sabbag, Howard Marks, who wrote the introduction, and Hirst, the piece includes a fake American Express credit card and an authentic rolled up $100 bill printed directly from the US Treasury, with the edition number of the work matching the last 3 digits of the dollar bill. The note is concealed within a deep rectangular space that has been cut into the middle of the pages of the novel, making it unreadable.
Consisting of an outer slipcase, and encased in re-enforced mirrors for the front and back covers, this piece is a satirical take on the consumption of cocaine in modern society.
The artwork is in a limited edition of 1000. Don’t miss the opportunity to buy your copy.
